New year, new hope

When the year draws to a close, there it comes the old-time classic of making New year’s resolutions. I was never particularly inclined to those but at the point I am in my life, I felt like writing a list and make it a powerful reminder of what to prioritise. I can only hope I stick to these during 2019 and beyond:

  • Save the relationships that matter and release the ones which hurt (guilt-free).
  • Learn to say it is not ok when it is actually NOT ok.
  • Be lenient to myself ( or at least as lenient as I am towards others).
  • Treasure my friendships and forge new ones.
  • Follow my curiosity. Always.
  • Allow myself to feel sad, then reset and move on.
  • Accept that not every road is smooth and that bumps are also part of the journey ( and that each journey is different).
  • Send off the constant and nagging feeling of  guilt far away and don’t allow it coming back. Never. Ever.
  • Treat myself to a long pampering session once in a while and remind myself of the importance of self-care.
  • Learn to play the guitar once and for all.
  • Channel my generosity to those who matter. Selfish people can work in mysterious ways.
  • Steer clear of mean in a perpetual state of cluelessness.
  • Learn, learn, learn… for the sole pleasure of it.
  • Don’t let anyone lick my wounds. I can only do that.
  • Embrace love and everyday demonstrations of love and let them sink in. Watching displays of love and affection is inspiring and heals the soul.
  • Learn to let go.
  • Don’t ever neglect my dreams, no mater how little they are. They are mine and they are for me to follow and treasure.
  • Cultivate self-acceptance and accept that we cannot mold people into who we want them to be.
  • (Still) Love unapologetically.
